Social media plays a huge role in the election. If anyone else was to think otherwise, I would have to disagree with them in a heartbeat. I can list many examples as to why social media is extremely important for the election. For one, social media allows people to keep up with important dates coming up that has to do with the election. It also gives people information on how to vote. Without social media many people would be lost and have no idea on what to do or how to go about this year’s election. This year’s election is being done completely different due to COVID 19.

In the past, there were stations in your area where you were able to vote. This year, you may have to vote by mail. Social media keeps you up to date with information like this. I am not the type of person who watches the news for information regarding the election. I personally prefer using twitter. Twitter literally has anything you see, know or learn about. As I mentioned I am not the type of person to watch the news therefore I missed out on part of the debates that have been taking place. Despite not being able to watch it on tv, I was able to watch the debate on twitter. Twitter is not the only social media platform that plays a role in the election. Instagram plays a huge role as well. When you log onto your Instagram account, you see constant reminders. There are reminders that ask you are you registered to vote and telling you to register if you have not done so already. Furthermore, Instagram allows you to use filters on your videos or photos to let others know important details about the election. I have got involved in trying to vote.

I am registered to vote and plan on voting come election day. I have even used my Instagram account to post reminders for people who may want to vote but do not keep up with important dates. The candidate that has my support is Joe Biden. I feel like it is time for a change in America and he is the right person that will provide that change. Though I am registered to vote, I have not yet voted because the new format is weird. I am from New Jersey but staying in New York. Therefore, for me to complete my vote I would have to use the voting by mail method. It is frustrating because I do not have all of the details but within the next twenty four hours I will make sure all my questions are answered because my vote counts, my vote matters and I refuse to miss out on having an opportunity on having a change in America. Even though I have some confusion, my overall experience with this election is cool. I have put deep though and done a little research which leads to favoring Joe Biden to be the next president of the united states.
